Timothy F. "Tim" LaHaye (April 27, 1926 – July 25, 2016) is an American evangelical Christian minister, author, and speaker. He is best known for the Left Behind series of apocalyptic fiction, which he co-wrote with Jerry B. Jenkins. He has written over 50 books, both fiction and non-fiction.
Multiple books in the series have been on the New York Times best-seller list. Starting in 2000, Books 7 and 8 reached number one on the list followed by book 10, which debuted at number one.Total sales for the series have surpassed 65 million copies. Seven titles in the adult series have reached #1 on the bestseller lists for the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly.
One reason often cited for the books' popularity is the quick pacing and action, and reflects the public's overall concern with the Apocalypse, as portrayed in the Book of Revelation in the Bible. Michelle Goldberg has written that, "On one level, the attraction of the Left Behind books isn't that much different from that of, say, Tom Clancy or Stephen King. The plotting is brisk and the characterizations Manichean. People disappear and things blow up."The New York Times also compared the series to Clancy's works.However, those views are not universally shared. Other reviewers have called the series "almost laughably tedious" and "fatuous and boring."

Jerry B. Jenkins este autorul seriei Supravietuitorii, care cuprinde saisprezece titluri.A scris peste o suta de carti dintre care zece au intrat in clasamentul de best-seller-uri al New York Times.Romanele sale apocaliptice se bucura de un mare succes,iar Supravietuitorii a fost desemnata Cartea Anului de catre Asociatia Publicistilor Crestini Evanghelici in 1997,1998 si 1999.
Dr.Tim LaHaye este cel care a avut ideea scrierii unor romane despre Inaltarea la Cer si Apocalipsa.Este preot si un recunoscut autor si conferentiar asupra profetiilor biblice.Este doctor in teologie la Western Theological Seminary si in literatura la Liberty University.
A scris peste patruzeci de carti,care au fost traduse in treizeci si trei de limbi si au fost tiparite in peste 22 de milioane de exemplare.
P.S. Am citit mai demult primul volum,mi a placut tare mult (Sa nu le comparati cu filmele.Au efecte slabe etc.Rezumati-va la carti).Dpmdv aceasta serie ar trebui citita detasat total de ceea ce inseamna religie,ca pe o simpla carte,cu multa actiune,ca nu cumva sa incepi sa ai indoieli or mai stiu eu ce !!! Ar fi un Thriller-Religios,daca se poate numi asa.Posed primele doua volume din seria Supravietuitorii.( Cuprinsa din 16 volume)

După „Supraviețuitorii” şi „Armata pătimirilor”, al treilea roman din serie este „Nicolae”. Nicolae Carpathia este bărbatul român identificat ca fiind nimeni altul decât viitorul Antihrist!
